Gärtnerei Paetz (PAE) – Germany

PAE is a German greenhouse enterprise working as a plant breeder and flower producer since 1960. As their products (different seasonal plants and flowers) are grown during the whole year their operation is characterised by a high energy consumption for heating and illuminating and accompanied by high energy costs for gas and electricity ( 40 %of the annual turnover).
PAE is also keen on increasing the sustainability of the production process. The scale up investigation result of the project will help this end-user to  improve the energy technology and decrease the primary energy consumption of its system to decrease consequently the production cost which is highly related to primary  energy consumption in the cold-moderate country like Netherlands with high production potential (high yield potential).

Role in the project

Providing the required information regarding the energetic situation of plant breeding greenhouses in North-Western Europe and their requirements for elaboration of the energy reduction potential.
