Dansk Gartneri (DG) - Denmark
DG has 600 nurseries as members that most of them are greenhouse growers. 25 out of 70 members of DG are expert advisors in economic, legislation, human resource and etc. of growing plants in greenhouses. DG has also laboratory for soil, water and pathogen analysis.
Some other activities of DG group can be listed as follow:
- Development of Energy management system, which is implemented in more than 200 nurseries.
- Practical field test with different types of greenhouses and different insulations of these greenhouses.
- Different strategies for curtain control and disease control have been tested.
- DG Green Team have made IT based programs regarding climate strategies and energy savings. We have also made programs to analyse climate date from greenhouses.
All these results are being implemented in the Danish nurseries. The DG Green Team has developed expert material about energy saving potentials in greenhouses. Recently DG green team has made a near cooperation with the agriculture university of Copenhagen. They have made a horticulture team with more than 120 employee to investigate the different possibilities of greenhouse production developments. This cooperation will be continue in parallel with GREENERGY project consortium.
Role in the project
DG takes advantage of the years of experiences in cooperation with different research and development institute regarding the energy system for greenhouses, especially in north of Europe, to compile the information and give scientific support for EQS initiation and its field test execution. DG also participate in creating of optimisation guidelines and its field test. This association play a main role in dissemination of the project results and transferring the know-how of modern technology by organising the training courses for its members and other greenhouse growers, conferences, workshops and articles in its internal magazine for all members.
